Obair Bhaile 10/10/16

Our class won best listeners at assembly on Friday! Congratulations to everyone in the class. Our prize is a night off written homework so tonight's homework is just learning spellings and tables and doing reading.

Here's the homework for the rest of the week

Spellings - revise every night (glad, plum, read, head, death, leather, breakfast, heavy, woman, women) extra spellings - deaf treasure, weather, breath

Read, discuss, understand and use words - staff, principal, caretaker, role, responsibility

Sentences - 6 spellings must be put into 'super' sentences in the homework copy for Friday

English sheet - capital letters and full stops sheet (Finish for Friday)

Green Genie - A House for Shade p. 12
Answer questions (A) in homework copy using full sentences and (B) and (C) in the book

Reading - read the piece of reading with your child and ask them the questions to ensure they have understood what they read **NB** I have given some children books to read for homework. They should do 5-10 minutes of reading each night and I will change the book when they are finished.

Tables Champion - please do this every night

Maths worksheets- subtraction  (I have given the children a copy of the rhyme we use when doing subtraction with regrouping to help them) I have drawn a line on some sheets to show you where to stop.

Tables - +6

Gaeilge spellings - doras (door) bosca (box) moncaĆ (monkey)

Children might have some extra reading from literacy 'power hour'

Thanks,

Becky
